Participatory Methods (in addition to interviews and community forum)
“Participatory†forms of assessment and research are those that aim to promote community input and decision-making regarding priorities of program implementation and research directions. Using these methods takes time and patience, and often entails a longer start-up time to beginning implementation or research. Methods include:
1. Diagramming – daily activity charts, community maps, calendars or seasonality charts, lifespan charts, body-mapping, causal flow charts, relationship Venn diagrams
2. Ranking – pair-wise, matrix, weighted matrix, costing grid
