Global Health Med Peds Program
About The Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Program at Mount Sinai Hospital provides several unique opportunities in Global Health. In addition to complete training in the disciplines of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, residents in this program have the opportunity to pursue a Masters in Public Health degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Residents in this program will also have the opportunity to develop a research project in Global Health to be completed during a fieldwork experience at one of the Mount Sinai Global Health Center's partner sites. Program Specifics Masters of Public Health Global Health Track · 42 Credits · Not a requirement of the residency · Required and Elective Courses offered - Most courses are offered in the evening after the work day - Efforts to coordinate classes and ward time will be made · Fully funded by the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics · Completed 1-2 courses per trimester term - Most typically 1 course per term - for more information on the MPH- Global Health track, click here

Field Work Experience
· 6 week elective in PGY3 year
· Research project component is mandatory
· Travel Costs will be nearly fully funded
· Field work must be done at partner sites
- Occasional Exceptions will be considered

Research Project
· Mandatory component of the residency program
· Residents pursuing the Global Health MPH degree will be expected to complete their research project at a Partner Site
· Fulfills MPH thesis requirement
· Mentorship for Project Development will come form Global Health Center faculty and other MSSM faculty with expertise in your area of interest
