Our guest will be Dr. Kevin Starr, who has spent years traveling through Asia and Africa evaluating and funding programs started by small NGOs and other entrepreneurs, and he has great insights into "what works" in low-income settings. He is also the director of the Rainer Arnhold Fellowship Program , that teaches "teaches emerging leaders how to translate good ideas into lasting change that will go to scale".

Dr. Amy Pollack spoke about her decades of experience as a physician in global health and as a CEO of award winning international healthcare organizations.

After completing her MPH and residencies in OB and Preventative Medicine at the University of Washington, Dr Amy Pollack became Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Seattle-Kings County from '86 - '90. For the next fifteen years, she was Vice President and then President of EngenderHealth, implementing innovative health programs and building local capacity for delivery of health services. She has been consultant to, among other organizations, the WHO and PATH (Programs for Appropriate Technologies in Health), working on new reproductive health technologies.
